Sir Joel & exploreit

Sir Joel has been involved in the Leather/kink/BDSM communities of New York, Florida, and California since 1997. He is the founder of Vanguard Leather, a sex-positive education, skillset, and weird-idea incubator in South Florida. He has presented locally and nationally and hosted charity events to benefit AHF, Mr. Friendly, the Leather Archives, and Recovery in the Lifestyle. exploreit (she/her) has been involved in the Leather/kink/BDSM community of Southeast Florida since 2008. She is a proud member of the Women of Leather Florida (WOLF) Wolfpack and attends various local events. While completing her research on the lived experiences of BDSM participants who identify as women, feminist, and submissive, exploreit become involved with the Community-Academic Consortium for Research on Alternative Sexualities (CARAS) and currently serves as the director of the CARAS Mentoring Program. As an educator, exploreit has three objectives for learners: to learn something new, to try something new, or to see a new way of teaching something.
