Heather Raquel

Heather Raquel (she/they) is an artist and educator living and working in Philadelphia. In 2017 they were sashed Ms. Philadelphia Leather and used their title year to fundraise with a focus on Trans Women of color. She was the 2019 visiting scholar at Leather Archives and Museum where she now sits on the Board of Directors. They maintain an associate membership with their local MC, The Philadelphians. Raquels' art practice centers marginalized communities with a recent focus on QTBIPOC leather folk. Their multimedia project titled, “Margin|Margin” has received funding from multiple sources and has resulted in a feature length documentary. She is currently working to expand the representation of QTBIPOC leather folk in archives.
