SouthEast LeatherFest is proud to announce the NEW SouthEast Person of Leather Contest
Atlanta, GA - Jack Stice had a vision in 1995 of a southeast leather event that would bring together our entire tribe: gay, het, M/s, D/s, S/M, trans, everyone! This event valued individuality and our theme every since has been “Explore yourSELF!” SouthEast LeatherFest has been known ever since as a warm and welcoming environment where you feel included, seen and can celebrate yourself and your kink.
Last year, SELF delivered by “Breaking the Mold“ and creating a different future of our contests that give participants a voice. For our 20th anniversary we are “Erecting a Vision.” That vision is focused on the future and being inclusive of all people and their unique contributions. Whereas others speak of difference—we’re embracing it. The next step in forward thinking and evolution is becoming reality today.
SELF is proud to announce the SouthEast Person of Leather will be one of SELF’s contest titles. Like the inclusive nature of our other titles, the SouthEast Person of Leather is not limited by gender or preference limitations. We are pleased to be a feeder contest to the International Person of Leather contest held at Sin in the City Feb. 27 – March 1st, 2015 in Las Vegas, NV.
The InterPOL statement of purpose is: The International Person of Leather Contest is a celebration of the diversity in the Leather community. The title of Person of Leather exists to promote that diversity.
International Person of Leather is a community service title. We see that the leather community consists of extremely diverse people with a common thread throughout, that thread being Leather culture. Each year, a single International Person of Leather will be selected not based on gender-identity, sexual-orientation, race, physical appearance, age, or disability, but rather on their ability to articulate their views, passions, and dedications and to make an impact in their communities. We will expect these People of Leather to act as mentors, educators, role models and spokespeople throughout their title year.
The goal of the International Person of Leather is to promote and celebrate the diversity of Leather Culture both regionally and internationally throughout the alternative sex-positive community on behalf of the International Person of Leather Contest. Person of Leather: One title, one community.
